Culture of Coaching
I have weekly coaching meetings with all the teachers I support. We either have an observation debrief, look at student work or plan for upcoming lessons/missions.
I look forward to these times and hold them sacred.
My coaching meetings are going to be a little different today. We have our curriculum coach coming to visit to do walkthroughs with us. Our coach helped write the curriculum we are implementing.
Instead of canceling my coaching meetings, I invited my teachers on the walkthrough. Why?
Co-observations are a powerful coaching move. You both get to see the same things and the same time and then debrief in the moment. *Bonus* they will see me get coached and receive feedback from my coach.
Creating a coaching culture means everyone is growing, learning and getting feedback.
A coaching culture is powerful and co-created.
